The word ‘Tsum’ refers to a Tibetan word which means ‘vivid’. The name of the valley symbolizes its place which is actually a vivid region to visit. This valley is also described as ‘the holy hidden valley of happiness’ by Guru Rimpochhe. The valley is a sacred pilgrimage site and it is located in northern Gorkha. Tsum Valley offers a remarkable views of the snow capped mountains like Buddha Himal, Himchuli, Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal,and many others mountains by which the valley is surrounded by.

The valley is also known as the hidden gem of the region. Here you will get a glimpse of a Tibetan culture and people who are believed to be originated from Tibet. Here you will also see a small part of land having an ancient tale where nothing grows till now and the valley is also believed to have a religious significance. The cultures and traditions of the people have been intact over several years. The trek is full of beautiful routes offering you with the best views. During the trek, you will see the houses made up of mud, Buddhists religious symbols and mantras painted on a stone, visit different monasteries and many more. The ‘Tusum Valley Trek’ is a new and adventurous trek which takes you to the land where you can see the Tibetan culture alive and intact where everything including nature, culture, and the lives of the people are away from the modern era which gives you the feeling of being on a different part of the world.

After arriving in Kathmandu representative of Nepal Trekking Trial associate with Actual Himalayan Group will pick up you by our private vehicle and transfer you to the Hotel.

After an early breakfast we'll start our beautiful journey with drive through the beautiful river view & Nepalese countryside to reach at Soti Khola. It is on the footsteps of Manasalu. It takes about 8 hours (142km) from Kathmandu to reach Soti Khola.

After having breakfast we cross the bridge, we trek through the beautiful Sal forests, then climb onto a ridge above huge rapids on the Budhi Gandaki. We then reach Khursane upon which the rocky trail weaves its way up and down, past two tropical waterfalls on a steep, rocky trail clinging to the side of a cliff. We head down again to the river and cross another suspension bridge to reach Machha Khola village. Overnight in Machha Khola

Today we will make our way through some steep ascents and descents to Dobhan from Maccha Khola. Dobhan is situated at the meeting point of Shiar Khola which flows from the east and Sarpu Khola which flows from the west. Overnight in Dobhan

From Dobhan we will go through the rocky trail from the middle of small trees offering the magnificent panorama of Sringri himal to our camping site in the village of Philim. Philim is a large Gurung village having the fields of corn and millet. The area has several campsites surrounded by alder, blue pine and poplar trees. Overnight in Philim

We will have our breakfast and start our today’s trek. From Philim today our trail heads up over the ridge to Ganesh Himal Base Camp and then Chumming (Lower Tsum). Overnight in Chumling

From Chumling we will make our way to Chhokangparo( Upper Tsum). Upper Tsum valley opens from Chhokangparo. Chhokangparo is a small village placed on flat land and is made up of two villages Chhekam and Paro. The village offers the magnificent view of Ganesh Himal in the south and Buddha Himal and Hiunchuli in the south west. Some families in this village practice polyandry. Overnight in Chhokangparo

From Chhokangparo we will trek to Nile/ Chulle which is situated in the western side of Shiar Khola. This is the last village in the upper Tsum valley.On the way we will visit Piren Phu cave which is also one of the holiest caves in the Tsum valley. The area has two separate gumbas added to the rocky cave which have Buddhist murals painted, excellent artistic scripts carved on stones, long prayer flags and significant Buddhist paper scripts making this cave socio-cultural asset in the valley. Overnight in Nile/ Chhule

From Nile our trail gently goes uphill to Mu gompa which is the largest monastery in the region. The gompa is located in the highest and farthest ridge of Tsum valley. Situated the altitude of 3510m the gompa was built in 1895AD.On the way to Mu Gompa we will visit Dephyudonma Gompa which is one of the oldest monasteries in Tsum valley and is situated in the midst of Rocky Mountains at the distance of 2hour walk from the village of Chhule and Nile. The history of this monastery is associated with the dawn of Buddhism in the valley. The monastery is run by Lama Serap and Nile Ladrang belonging to Kangin sect. Overnight in Mu Gompa

From Mu Gompa we will hike to the base of Pika Himal (4865m). The area is pretty close of Tibet and offers the astounding view of Tibetan peaks as well as Ganesh Himal range. After exploring the area we will return to our camping site in Mu gompa. Overnight in Mu Gompa

Today after having breakfast we will trek to Rachen Gompa from Mu Gompa. The Gompa is situated in Shiar Khola Valley in the lap of mountains bordering Nepal and Tibet. Established in 1905AD Rachen Gompa is one of the largest nunneries in the Tsum valley. Overnight in Rachen Gompa

Today after having breakfast, we will leave Rachen Gompa and we will make our way to our camping site in the small village of Dumje. Overnight in Dumje

From Dumje we will trek to Philim via Ripchet. On the way we will pass through one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Samba lingding Chhupyant in the Lower Tsum Valley. Overnight in Philim

After having our breakfast we will leave Philim behind us we will trek down to Tatopani which is hot water spring. In hot water we can relieve our tired muscles. Overnight in Tatopani

After having our breakfast at Tatopani we will start our trek.Today we will make our way through terraced fields and tropical waterfalls we will trek to our camping site in the village of Soti Khola. Overnight in Soti Khola.

From Soti Khola the trail drops down to Arughat Bazaar. After that we'll start our beautiful journey with drive through the beautiful river view & Nepalese countryside to reach Kathmandu. It takes about 5 hours (142km) from Arughat to reach Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu

Day 17 :
DEPARTURE

A representative from Nepal Trekking Trial will transfer you to the airport before two hours from your flight with lots of a hope of seeing you again in the future.
